My Everything

Dwight L. Moody said, “When a man thinks he has got a good deal of strength, and is self-confident, you may look for his downfall. It may be years before it comes to light, but it is already commenced.” It happened to most of the great men of the Bible (David, Solomon, Sampson...) and even in our time we see the same. But praise to God, most of these men do not stay there but rise from the ashes in humility. Donnie McClurkin in his song so rightly said "For a saint is just a sinner who fell down but couldn't stay there and got up" (Prov 24:16). Once again, we are reminded that it had not been by human power, strength or knowledge but only Christ. In John 14:6 we learn that Christ is the way, truth and the life and no man can go to the father except through Him. Christ is truly all we need.... OUR EVERYTHING.

Again, when we are being blessed we should not forget that He is “our everything” and only see the path as a plain where we can now run on our own. For it is in this time the path is most slippery. The devil lurks in the shadows with the worst of evils to get us down again. If we make Christ our EVERYTHING at all times we can avoid some of these up and downs. There is this assurance from Christ in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

He is ever ready to come to our rescue...INTERVENTION.

There is no one like Jesus Christ. He is the only one that can give the peace we so seek for in heart and mind.  How can I be with him and not be moved. My soul knows great joy whenever I give him the due reverence and acknowledge him as My EVERYTHING.
